Minimal Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS)

With changing times, surgery also has evolved into a better form. The field of Heart surgery is at cross roads today. The results of heart surgery have been standardized and are approaching towards excellence. If not all, but quite a few heart surgeries can be performed through a small incision in the sides along the rib cage avoiding a larger cut in the centre of the chest and cutting across the sternal bone.

Without compromising the safety of a standard Open Heart Surgeries a few Valve procedures and Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG) and valve replacement procedures can be done through a Minimal Invasive route.

This helps in the patients recovering fast from the surgery and getting back to work. This type of Minimally Invasive procedure also helps in minimising the blood loss and helps in recovering without much pain.

A few surgeries can also be converted to hybrid procedures where the surgical team and the cardiologist work together to bring the best of two worlds together to benefit the patient. All these procedures are done with out any compromise in the safety, results and long term prognosis.

The team led by Dr Anbarasu Mohanraj is quite proficient in performing Minimal Invasive procedures on a routine basis with good results.
